Kyle Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 We have been given a 77" Smartboard., no fixings etc but we do have a set of pens we can use from another board. The board has no cables etc. What is the quickest way i can find out if the board works? The board has a little dent but the membrane does not look broken. What leads do i need as a minumum to connect to it as i can only see what looks like a VGA connection?
Kyle Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 (edited) So a normal GA cable is no good then? Edited July 15, 2008 by Kyle poor spelling
john Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 No its got its own cable type, its a Serial connector still I think on the newer boards and that either goes to a serial port on the other end or a USB Convertery thingy.
EduTech Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 The older boards are Serial to USB and the newer boards are USB - USB (like the Printer one) James.
Sirbendy Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 the older, older boards are serial to serial, with a PS/2 hookup connector for power.
Domino Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Given that its a 77" though, its unlikely to have an old, old, old connector
matt40k Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I just use the 3 yrs wattery. If it don't work, guy turns up the same\next day and swaps it for a new(er) one. 3yrs as well! (I think it's now 5yrs)
