Bankesy Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Good morning, Does anybody know if there is a way of preventing OneDrive files appearing for users when they sign in to Office apps on iPad using work\school accounts? Say for example a user signs in to the Word app with their work\school account but doesn't want to see what's in their work\school OneDrive? Thanks
CHiLL Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Why don't you want school/work files to appear when they're using their school/work account? I don't think it's possible to restrict it in the way you want, unless the user logs in with another account, such as a personal account? If it's not a 1:1 device, the Office apps aren't ideal because if a person forgets to sign out of the app (almost always), then the next person to use the iPad will have access to that person's account.
PotNoodleTech Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Ipads are terrible as shared devices, a long time ago we ran a shared cart of 32 and they where a nightmare, and nowadays no compliant with GDPR and cybersecurity. They only work as 1:1 devices as that user can then set a pin and sign into all their apps securely, in which case why wouldn't you want them to also access their drive/work?
Bankesy Posted September 13, 2023 Author Posted September 13, 2023 @CHiLL @PotNoodleTech Apologies, didn't explain that it is their own personal iPad and they are trying to take advantage of the free license through work\school account rather than pay for personal subscription. Thanks

Thanks No worries. With that in mind, they'll just have to accept that if they log in with their work account, they'll see their work stuff. It is an employment benefit afterall. 1
Bankesy Posted September 14, 2023 Author Posted September 14, 2023 @PotNoodleTech @CHiLL Thank you, I did think it was just a side effect but figured it was worth asking the question.
