Server issue

Hi Everyone,

 

I have a strange issue on one of my member servers in that when you try to query the domain it defaults to the local machine and under entire directory our domain name is not shown but it is on other servers. It is almost like it has dropped off the domain but it does allow you to do a lot of domain related tasks (probably cached) but anything new it won't have any of it.

 

I did an inplace upgrade from Server 2019 to Server 2022 so I don't know if that caused it. I was going to just take it off the domain and put it back on when everyone has gone home today to see if that fixes it unless there is something else I should be looking for?

 

Any advice would be appreciated. If I could fix without downtime that would be great.

I have seen this before and it was DNS. Start with the basics and ensure your NIC is configured correctly for DNS. Check there are accurate records in the DNS server etc.
