Just checking I thinking the right things

If a user logs on to the domain on thier laptop the domain policys are applied If then then go home and log on to the laptop using the cached user, the same policy is applied correct? (so if the schools proxy was set in the policy when they went home, it would still look for the schools proxy)

Thanks

Yes. Policy objects are cached, so the policy that was in effect at the time is applied. Obviously if you change a policy it won't take effect on that machine until it is back in school.

Perhaps the SMT were thinking about the laptop when it is connected to the school network from home?

GPO cannot be updated without the laptop talking to its home server.

I though the next intel chip had an inbult psychic chip?

I'm not sure the chip will be compatible with Vista though... Crystal Ball technology is notoriously unstable! :getmecoat:

I would just go for it, the next service pack tries to detect whether you're using AMD TeaLeaves but is known to be very unstable even so.

(I've been rehearsing a youth theatre all day, can you tell?!)
