[22h2] Windows 11 System Checks Workarounds... no longer working?

Hi all,

 

Trying to deploy Windows 11 to some of our legacy equipment (due to be replaced this year) but the workarounds I have found online do not seem to be working. Have added the regkeys below but they dont seem to work:

 

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup\AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU
  
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig\BypassTPMCheck
  
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig\BypassSecureBootCheck
  

 

Have this workaround been removed with 22H2? Anyone found any other way to support on unsupported hardware - particularly using SCCM / WDS? Was wondering about editing the Windows PE image to add in the above?

Be aware that using the bypasses put you in to non compliance for cyber essentials as Microsoft have said not all security updates would be applied to unsupported devices.

For one off's to upgrade from Win 10, you can extract the setup media to a folder, then replace the sources/appraiserres.dll file with one from Win 10 Media. You can then run setup.exe and it will skip the checks (they're stored in that file).

 

Updates seem to work fine at the moment though MSFT have warned that they're not guaranteed. Reckon you'll be fine if you are planning to replace the kit this year anyway, just something to keep an eye on

I would stick to Microsoft's recommendation of running Windows 10 22H2 until you can replace with Windows 11 compliant hardware.
