Windows Server 2016 Datacentre - Workfolders

Good afternoon all,

 

This is the first year I've had to worry about leavers processes and I'm wondering what the best practice is for staff and student home directories, I notice that disabling users in AD doesn't have any impact on the associated home directory.

 

Is there something I should be doing to ensure these home directories are archived and no longer being backed up (that's my main concern)?

We normally Zip the folders up and store them somewhere on the network for a year just incase something is needed from them, after a year we delete the zip.
