Moving Veeam to new server

I need to move my Veeam install to a new server so I am following the instructions on Veeam's website . I have created a configuration backup on the existing server and the instructions say to use this to restore the config on the target server but state that I must copy the backup file to the target server beforehand. How do I do this? There does not seem to be a restore to different location option for configuration backups.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

 

This backup file has been created in Step 3. You must copy the backup file to the target Veeam Backup & Replication server beforehand.

It's been over 7 years for me but if you copy the backups across i.e. file sharing then you can re-link it. I think it is a matter of pointing to the repository on the new server and re-scanning? It has been a long time though since I played with Veeam though.

 

Are you talking about the actual backup files or the config backup, I might of misunderstood.

New ones will be standalone and not part of the domain.

I did this recently when I did a DR Test and rebuilt a test Veeam Server from scratch - will dig out my notes when I’m back in school tomorrow.
