We bailed at the final film. It got very hot and humid in the cinema and my son was getting a headache. The aircon was on and I bought a LOT of water for us, but it was still hellish. The screen was about 2/3 - 3/4 full, so was quite well attended.

Many turned up with pillows, cushions etc. and that is a lesson for the future!

It was enjoyable though and 8 hours screen time in there was respectable we think. My son is autistic and got quite annoyed at some teens a couple of rows back who couldn't\wouldn't keep quiet. I'm going to buy him the Blu-Ray so he can finish it off at home. £5 at CEX.

Still, it was £30 for both of us, and when it comes to days out, that works out quite cheap!

Sounds amazing being able to see it on the big screen. How long was the break between films? Edited by Brax

About 20 mins and half an hour between films depending on the runtime as they didn't show credits, the organisers did say that the creadits for all three films would be shown right at the end and would take 28 mins (a legal abligation by all accounts).

My son liked the world building, but isn't really action movie focussed, so found the battles and fight scenes a bit distracting from the parts he liked. He still really enjoyed them (the films) though.

Are you sure the heat wasn't an attempt at immersion for the journey to Mordor?

We did feel like Sam and Frodo on the rock outside Mount Doom after the ring was cast back in with Gollum towards the end of the second film.

Some of the CGI hasn't aged very well on a 4k projector and big screen!
