Zourous Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 On AB v7 now that is due to be axed. New AB Cloud doesn’t perform quite fast enough. Our internet service probably doesn’t help, but we’re stuck on that for the moment. Tried Netsupport classroom cloud (which is fast) but some features are lacking. Looking for: On prem set-up with no server if possible. Just classroom controls really, but the more the better. Close student apps, lock screen, blocking apps and internet and a demo mode that can’t be closed. Options to shutdown and WOL is useful Reasonably priced, but not free. Does anything fit the bill?
Guest Guest Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Netsupport school does most of if not all of that
Zourous Posted July 4, 2023 Author Posted July 4, 2023 Netsupport school does most of if not all of that I wasn’t sure if it needed a server? I saw some mention of a connectivity server.

ckedu-local Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Have you looked into Senso? There are different packages which can offer what you're looking for. Allows you to assign devices to different groups, change student passwords, lock the screen, disable internet - all the good stuff. As long as the device can connect to the internet, you'll be able to manage it
Brax Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 We use impero. Does everything really. Not sure about their current pricing though.
MW_NetSupport Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Hi Zourous, We recommend installing the Name and Connectivity Server component of NetSupport School as it resolves most connection issues which can be experienced on larger more complex networks. It shouldn't require it's own dedicated server to run on, most of our customers run it on one of their existing servers. 1
dapaulio Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 I don’t think I have seen any classroom cloud management system that works flawlessly. You mentioned you have abt. I love abt as the cost efficiency in invaluable to tech support and teachers. Ok doesn’t carry the safeguarding stamp that schools have to tick but great for classroom monitoring at a competitive annual subscription. Have you asked for on prem as I chose to stay self hosted rather than move to cloud. 1
