Collaborating on Google Drive file when not a Google user

Hi,

 

We use Google and the GSuite platform so all teachers have their own Google Email, Drive accounts, etc.

 

Some teachers would like to do some collaborative work with external users who are not Google members.

 

Is there a way I can get them to access and editing a file on Drive so everyone can work together?

 

I read something on Google about you can use any email address and they will get a 7 day editing window but this needs to be reverified weekly.

 

Anyone know what is the best approach for something like this?

You could ask the external users to create a Google account. They wouldnt have to create a new one they could use their existing hotmail etc and make that a Google account.

When you go through the process of creating a new Google account the process gives you the option to "Use your existing email". In this way they can collaborate on Google docs using their existing email addresses and there is no 7 day window involved.
