New wireless SSID

Hi all

 

We are having new wifi installed over summer holidays, it will have new SSID and obv password.

 

We have 600 plus chromebooks. Whats best way to get these on the new wifi, is it one by one? Or is their a quicker way? We will be using cisco meraki for the wifi network

Do you use the google admin console, or some other MDM solution?

Just deploy the new SSID on the Google Admin console now. Devices that are online between now and the install will pick up the setting and just work.

I wouldn’t be using a password. 802.1X is far better suited for anything larger than small business.

If you are using 802.1x you should be able to deploy the certificate with the MDM. One thing to note is to remember to deploy a new certificate before the old one runs out.
