Hi All

We've got a trust wide problem with Chromebooks. They keep logging themselves off after a period of time.

I've logged on to the Admin console in a bid to locate this setting. I can't.

Is it me? - I could really do with this setting being disabled. If I have a class of year 1 children logging on (the teacher) the children sit on the carpet to be thought then come back to their devices to find them logged off.

Any help would be amazing!

Do they leave them open or close the lid when they leave the Chromebooks? Do the Chormebooks sign the users out or do they sign them out and also restart? Is the same thing happening on all Chromebooks, everytime?

I'd check how these options are configured in Google Admin for the OU(s) that the Chromebooks are in if you haven't already done so.

Reboot after uptime limit

Action on lid close

Scheduled reboot

Sadly all settings looked correct for all domains and OU's

I forgot to mention.

The devices are enrolled on one domain and the users are on another.

The devices are on the trust domain with an OU for each school

then one school has their own domain users logging on to the Chromebooks., This is a different domain to the trust one.

AND - I never set this up so finding the setting is hard work as it could be the users OU on one domain or the Devices OU on the other domain

Have you checked in chrome://policy from one of the logged in Chromebooks? That should show you all applied policies.
