We're looking at moving away from SIMS next year. Leading contenders are the usual suspects.

 

SISRA contract is up for renewal - 3 year renewal.

 

Anyone here experienced enough with the newer MIS providers to give advice on whether SISRA is needed for KS4 performance analysis?

 

SISRA is a great tool, but could become an unnecessary expense if we have the same functionality out of the box with a SIMS alternative.

We recently moved to Isams from Sims (we are an independent school). The analysis and visualisations is poor to be honest so you would need something 3rd party or come up with powerbi dashboards etc.

 

Out of interest what's the data managers forum?

Bromcom has an inbuilt KS4 Dashboard that can produce all of the KPI's that you need and allows you to drill down into it. It can be configured to use the internal data collections in your school as well as exams data. It is very good.

We use Arbor in our Trust and they have a KS4 dashboard but we are keeping Sisra at present because we have a 16-19 offer at two of the secondaries and Arbor can't produce any meaningful performance related data and the SLT at our secondaries like using the SPI in Sisra, although I can see that being less of a need because I think Arbor with push out performance collaborative measures as well as the attendance ones they currently publish.

Previous school used Arbor and still had SISRA - although that was when Arbor was in its infancy in terms of secondary school users. I'm aware its reporting system has come on a long way since then.

 

Current school is moving MIS (most likely Arbor) and will be holding onto SISRA - mainly for the national comparisons. SISRA has almost 50% of the country cohort using it, Arbor unfortunately does not. So for the foreseeable future we'll be using both our new MIS and SISRA.
