Jobos Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 I'm looking at installing WAC but not sure the best way forward. Do I install on my Win10 machine (always used as standard user) or do I install on each server? Thanks in advance.
Jcx500 Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 I run it on a server core VM , then connect via web browser Then I add each server into WAC 1
jthompson Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 Same. We're using the 'gateway server' method of deployment: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/manage/windows-admin-center/plan/installation-options 1
localzuk Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 I have an IT Admin RDP server we use for our admin tasks - allows us to limit access to lots of things to its IP. I installed Windows Admin Center on that. One thing to remember is to install your own security certificate, as the self signed ones expire fairly quickly. I used some of the scripts here to sort out the template and generate a certificate via our CS server instead of using the self signed one. 1
Jobos Posted May 18, 2023 Author Posted May 18, 2023 Thanks everyone. We're not licenced for anymore servers but I think I'll install WAC on the WSUS server as that doesn't do a lot for most of the month.
