OneLan NTB, Kramer and Samsung CEC

Hello.

 

Got a big of odd one here.

 

We have installed some OneLan NTB to do our digital signage.

 

The Mini pc are connected to a 1:4 Kramer VM-4HDT then CAT6 to a TP-580Rxr. Now it all works fine to the Samsung TV.

 

I ordered a few of these displays.

 

HG55AU800EU - Yes I'm aware I didn't ordered digital Signage Displays which is a error on my part. But I was working to a budget.

 

Is there a way I can get TV to wake up on the input of the HDMI?

 

The NTB has a schedule which turns the HDMI signal on and off but this does not wake the TV up.

 

Anyone got any ideas?

Does the TV have a built in timer to wake up and select a source, so rather than being on signal start, you just have it set to turn on at the same time?

 

I know LG does, sorry I don't have access to a Samsung to check, so apologies if this is not an option or already been checked.

This is what i'm thinking currently. These TV are not connected to the internet (They can but as they can "Cast" i don't want them too)

 

I'm assuming the NTB don't have the CEC support. Is there a device i can plug in the mimic this? I can see the CEC devices that remove this but not any that send it. (Again i dont know if the Kramer devices send this sigial)

I did try using the alarm on the TV to wake up. Works for one day but not the next as it turns off. (Also switches input to aerial rather than HDMi)

I've spotted one of those on Amazon. (Cheaper then that)

I have not used these but as I understand it the CEC signal is carried on the HDMI separate from the Video and Audio so theoretically it could be anywhere in the chain. However, I would put it as close to the TV as possible and after the media is converted back from CAT6.

Annoyingly. OneLan have said its not compatible with their boxes.

 

But their boxes are a Linux-based, so I can't see why not?!?!

Sorry I'm late to the party, been off for a while.

 

Samsung displays do have an On/Off timer, those displays apparently have a hotel mode so I guess they might have? It's hidden under the Home menu though, rather than the Settings menu. (We use Samsung displays exclusively for our digital signage for exactly this functionality). Just remember to set the DST option up in the Time settings!
