Control application on extended screen from primary monitor?

Hi,

I want to be able to extend my desktop so I can work privately and easily control an application on the extended screen.

The extended screen is not easily visible to me. Is there a way for me to remotely control the shared application on the extended screen on the primary monitor?

Kind of like remoting into the extended screen.

Thanks,

Chris

If you're using extended desktop, my understanding is that this is using two monitors as one big monitor. I don't think there is a way to remotely control an application from one side of your desktop to the other. It sounds like you're either looking at running that app blind, or, using duplicate displays instead.

That said, it does depend on the application. What are you using on the blind screen? It may be that there is a secondary way to control that. Eg, an Intranet page could be displayed in a web browser, but you could be looking at the backend in a different program at the same time.

You might be able to make use of a VNC utility to connect to your current machine and have a window containing your entire [extended] desktop. You may end up Dr Who'ing into an infinity mirror, though.

Any application really on the extended desktop. It would be nice to retain the privacy of the primary monitor and control of the extended monitor locally.
