Andrew_C Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Annoying - that I think I've broken the "Cool Things" thread. Can someone have a look please?
6Foot2 Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 I have had a look (not that I can make any changes!) The last page looks OK, and I can't see a post from you on that page. What's the problem? (interested)
Andrew_C Posted March 15, 2023 Author Posted March 15, 2023 I dragged and dropped a couple of pics in a post in error, rather than uploading. Now getting 504 - gateway timeout.
Andrew_C Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 OK for me too. Turned off & on? Yes - and still 504. Everything else seems OK...
elsiegee40 Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 What browser are using? Have you cleared cookies?
Andrew_C Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 Firefox - yes - and restated machine - still broken. Sorry Miss!
6Foot2 Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Have you tried logging out of Edugeek, and logging in again?
LeMarchand Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Do you get the same problem with other browsers?
Andrew_C Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 Had too, once I'd cleared bisc*** sorry, cookies.
elsiegee40 Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Seems to be fine in Chrome on my iPad will jump on my laptop and try (not literally )
6Foot2 Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 (edited) OK. The "Cool Things" thread may have a problem (different to that described by @Andrew_C) I have received two notifications of new posts in "Cool Things" (one, or both, of those new posts created by @elsiegee40) but when I go to look at the thread, the newest post is: Link: What cool thing(s) did u do today? - Page 913 th[/sUP] of March 2023 at 10:00 pm.] Edit: I created (and deleted) a test post in "Cool Things" to see if I could see my own new test post. I could. Edited March 16, 2023 by 6Foot2

dmj Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 (edited) 504 isn't a browser/cookie issue. It literally means a server couldn't deal with the request in the allotted time. It's either generated by a proxy (on the users network, or cloudflare) or on the webserver itself. edit: I suppose technically it could be DNS related too, but my money is on the proxy or server. I'd correlate the logs of both with the error and see what was happening. Edited March 16, 2023 by dmj
ZeroHour Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 For some reason I didnt get alerted to this thread report. Looking into it now.
ZeroHour Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 It literally means a server couldn't deal with the request in the allotted time. Yeah server side process timeout, just trying to figure out why as I cant recreate it.
bald_pig Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 My money is on the server breaking trying to prep the "restore previous message" or whatever it's called for the quick reply with the iffy image insertion
ZeroHour Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Hopefully this should be fixed, I couldnt easily get it to recreate for me but it did a few times and I made a server change to see if that fixes it. 1
