504 error in the Cool Things thread

Annoying - that I think I've broken the "Cool Things" thread.

 

Can someone have a look please?

I have had a look (not that I can make any changes!) The last page looks OK, and I can't see a post from you on that page.

 

What's the problem? (interested)

I dragged and dropped a couple of pics in a post in error, rather than uploading. Now getting 504 - gateway timeout.

I have received two notifications of new posts in "Cool Things" (one, or both, of those new posts created by @elsiegee40) but when I go to look at the thread, the newest post is:

Edit: I created (and deleted) a test post in "Cool Things" to see if I could see my own new test post. I could.

504 isn't a browser/cookie issue.

It literally means a server couldn't deal with the request in the allotted time. It's either generated by a proxy (on the users network, or cloudflare) or on the webserver itself.

 

edit: I suppose technically it could be DNS related too, but my money is on the proxy or server. I'd correlate the logs of both with the error and see what was happening.

Yeah server side process timeout, just trying to figure out why as I cant recreate it.

My money is on the server breaking trying to prep the "restore previous message" or whatever it's called for the quick reply with the iffy image insertion

Hopefully this should be fixed, I couldnt easily get it to recreate for me but it did a few times and I made a server change to see if that fixes it.
