chekmate1984 Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 Hi all I am being called to a site to discuss with headteacher of some issues the school is having Below is the snippet from this email "When a staff member send an email to another staff member in the school with an attachment.. it hastobeverified" Is this a feature for LGFL mails if so can someone send me link to ready more about this. As apparently school is having hard time with this at present and feel its over kill.
StormTrooper59 Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 We've not used LGFL Email for about 3 years now so not overly helpful but I didn't come across that before.
psydii Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 Is this not Exchange Online safe attachments feature scanning the attachments? Its pretty standard these days. You just have to wait a few seconds after the delivery to be able to open the attachment. Might be quite rough in an older version of Outlook that wasn't built with this feature in mind? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/office-365-security/safe-attachments-about?view=o365-worldwide The obvious solution is to share documents rather than send attachments, as that is pretty much instantaneous. How you frame that suggestion so it lands well, I shall leave as an exercise for the reader.

Your best bet would be to ask the school's nominated contact to log a ticket with AdEPT Education with the details of what's happening. AdEPT are the company that manage technical services for LGfL and AdEPT manage and host LGfL StaffMail. They will be in the best position to advise and/or resolve the issue.
PaddyNewman Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 I'm not aware of that, it isn't a default option and I expect it's not their StaffMail service, best to raise a case and ask though as AdEPT would be best places to tell you
chekmate1984 Posted March 3, 2023 Author Posted March 3, 2023 Thanks guys, i am on site at that school today afternoon so will know more. There is high chance it could be something else but i rather see the issue in action than listen to what ive been told!
JohnJackson Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Hi colleagues. Spotted this thread and I've escalated for you with Adept. We're upgrading StaffMail as well in April which I hope will be helpful as well. Apologies if this is causing any issues.
Face-Man Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 I think this is to do with a security feature of Microsoft defender not LGFL staffmail see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/office-365-security/safe-attachments-about?view=o365-worldwide . I've seen it come up on my outlook using office 365 not staffmail. 1
