Dos_Box Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Was up in the attic rummaging in boxes last night and found this: I'd bought it just before I moved house 6 years back and forgot all about it. It's never been used and still has the plastic wrap on it! Before I stick it on eBay, I do need to ask if anyone is still using a Steam Link and if you find it useful as I'd have to buy a decent KB/Mouse for the living room if I decide to give it a go.
Garacesh Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 I used to have done and got a tonne of use out of it. If you're wired, it's pretty much a super-low-latency RDP. If you want to extend your pc to another room, I'd say yeah, keep hold of it. It's pretty much deigned to work in steam's Big Picture mode though so using it as a full-fat pc might be more difficult. (and if you're considering selling it.. What's your price? I'd be interested 😛)

I do note that they quietly killed these in 2018, which I wasn't aware of. ETA: I'll have to get it fired up to see if it updates at some point this weekend.
Dos_Box Posted February 24, 2023 Author Posted February 24, 2023 And if anyone has a spare Raspberry Pi lying around - https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/steam-link-raspberry-pi 1
MrEprise Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Like you, I also bought one when they were going cheap, put it to one side and never used it. I'd like to use it (or see what it's like) but often wonder if I'd be better off selling it and getting more than I paid for it back, while it's still brand new in box.
3s-gtech Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 I bought one in the sale, and with a PS4 gamepad it worked really well. Has to be wired network to be worthwhile. Haven’t tried mine for a long time, but it’s still set up!
