PRTG be anything like what you want? Can do all sorts but it'll do that also. Got it up on a spare Intel NUC and separate monitor on the wall.

EDIT: They generously give you 100 "sensors" free and a sensor can be anything from pinging a thing to a service running on a thing to free disk space on a thing. Have also run Nagios in the past though that can be a bit prickly to learn.

This might be overkill, but checkmk raw edition, or some other monitoring platform. Will give you graphing and threshold alerts.

In the past, I've used PA WatchDisk to alert on sudden increases in storage use, to catch when users dump excessively large amounts of stuff into network shares. I'm not sure that that's a free option, though.

Zabbix - requires abit of learning if you haven’t used / set it up before but it’s free and good once you get it tuned to your needs.

In the past I've used:

https://www.nagios.org/

https://icinga.com/community/open-source/

https://prometheus.io/

Icinga is probably the easiest, but prometheus is the most comprehensive and widely used.

None of these tools just monitor disk space - but if you are starting to look at monitoring then I would be getting something that will provide alerts for a range of things and there are plugins for all three that would monitor just about anything you could think of.
