SimonL Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Hi, We provide support to a primary school that needs to purchase 30 additional iPads. They use Jamf School to manage their fleet of existing iPads. Can we source these on the open market, or do they have to come from an Education specific supplier ? Any suggestions ? TIA
CHiLL Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 XMA or Jigsaw are usually our go-to suppliers for sourcing iPads. They regularly have better pricing than our other suppliers.
DavR Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Last time we bought some, we got quotes from Highgate IT and Academia (formerly Toucan). In my experience, there doesn't tend to be much price difference on the iPads themselves, the deciding factor tends to be the accessories and storage/charging solutions. It doesn't need to be an education-specific supplier, but it's a lot easier to do things like Apple ADE (formerly DEP) through an enterprise supplier, as opposed to retail.

Does make it a lot easier, think we just added their reseller ID in apple school manager which gave the reseller permission to assign the iPads to us , and then we moved them to Meraki from ASM

TIA Although price is a key factor, you should consider those resellers who have a background in supporting leadership and teachers. The resellers in the list linked below have all passed the very high bar set by Apple to be an Apple Authorised Education Specialist, unlike many vendor programs to become "certified" this was not a simple tick box exercise. https://www.apple.com/uk/education/how-to-buy/education-specialist/
MrLudwig Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 We’ve used KRCS for several years now. They are consistently best on price, and are an Apple specialist so know the ins & outs of things like ADE, Classroom etc. As a bonus, they’ve never cold-called us either wondering if we have anything in the works they can help with.
Guest Guest Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 We usually use Albion for our iPads, never had any issues
bknaggs Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 We’ve used MCC and Jigsaw 24 over the last few years.
