lmrogers Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 I have an iPad that was removed the Lightspeed and needed to be re-enrolled. I factory reset the iPad through iTunes and started going through the setup of the iPad again. The iPad is in Apple School Manager and is assigned to the Lightspeed MDM. I thought when it joined the wifi then it would check in with Apple and then re-enrol into the Lightspeed MDM, this however has not worked. Is there something that I am missing or doing wrong? Cheers
tmoon-mint Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Sounds to me like your Apple School Manager token has expired.
LeMarchand Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Sounds to me like your Apple School Manager token has expired. Should there be something here? The stoken bit is fine. Having the same problem (and more!) with Lightspeed and our new filter seems to be blocking Mosyle .
tmoon-mint Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Wrong token. Lightspeed might call it a DEP token if its still using the old name.
RLR Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Not familiar with Lightspeed but MDMs should follow a similar process. Even though the device might be assigned to lightspeed MDM, it might not be assigned to what Jamf call a pre-stage enrolment. This is where the settings on the pre-stage enrolment are applied to the device when it connects to wifi. I imagine lightspeed will have something similar to say that these devices get these settings during enrolment.
lmrogers Posted February 7, 2023 Author Posted February 7, 2023 So for me it looks like the device just wasn't associated to a DEP profile within Lightspeed. Took me a while to actually find that setting... I'm picking up an enviroment that someone else setup so its a bit all over the place.

This (valid) one? @lmrogers: If this is set up correctly, I'm having the same problems. I don't think it's our filter as no joy if I hotspot my phone (which at least works with Mosyle).

I didn't and had to manually go into the device list and assign a profile to the device. But yeah it wasn't to do with credential expiration. Might be work going into the device list and seeing if it actually had a profile assigned to it?

IME very little in Lightspeed is where you might expect to find it. Did you have a default profile assigned there? lmrogers Posted February 7, 2023 Author Posted February 7, 2023 I too am in the process of getting Mosyle setup and will be looking to move everything over to it
LeMarchand Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Yeah, I was a bit worried by them calling and wanting to do a Zoom meeting as I was expecting a hard sell. I was up front about likely only needing/wanting the free tier but the guy who did the meeting was very helpful with some of the initial setup. Now working with the LA to sort out why the filter is blocking parts of Mosyle.
