RM dont support Virtual machines, although i'm sure someone could run vmware convertor over one of there CC3 DC's to give you an image

It depends what he's asking for... an RM Build Server is completely different to a CC3 DC.

Saying that you can buy for testing purpose a complete cc3 virtual setup..

Sorry my limited CC3 knowledge shines through, I take it from the comments the build tools/shares are never kept on the dc then? What I actually wanted to achieve was to setup a little test environment so if any of our customers have problem building any of machines onto CC3 we could be a little more proactive at our end helping them.

Hi PeterW,

 

I understand what you're saying and would suggest you either ...

 

1) Only build your machines with the same 'hardware' as RM, particularly chipsets etc.

 

2) Ship a 'new' machine of yours to an experienced CC3 network manager (several of us on here) and have them build the machine onto their network and accurately document the task and what was required outside of a default build environment.

PS. An "RM Build Server" is actually a small PC which RM use to deploy images onto server hardware for a build which is why I asked.

Ahh sorry my bad use of RM terminology there. Thanks for the suggestions, we actually do kind of those things at the moment and don't normally have any problems, I'm just always looking for a backup plan incase any additional issues crop up.
