newpersn Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Hello, We are looking at Point to Point Wireless and looking at the ISP airFiber 60 HD: https://eu.store.ui.com/collections/operator-airfiber/products/airfiber-60-hd Does anyone have any Unfi Points to points installed and how are they ruuning the software/config etc...? Do they need the USIP Application? Thanks Newp
Aprice Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 They can run standalone, UISP just gives you centralised management and monitoring for multiple links. I've worked with the Ubiquiti point to point gear before, it's solid kit. 60Ghz gives you better performance, provided you have pretty much perfect line of sight. 1
DalekSec Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 How fars the distance? Ubiquiti do a building to building kit which is quick and easy to setup. https://store.ui.com/products/ubb-us 1

Oaktech Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 I've got a few in use. Longest is 500m. They seem fine. 1
Andrew_C Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Watch out for trees. If you have your survey done now, with no leaves, the summer could be interesting. Here speaks experience (of much older kit). 1

Baerf Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 BTB will do the job, we had 2 boarding houses running off them! How many in your boarding houses? We are looking at the same possible solution for a sister school. Have you moved away from them or still using them?
DalekSec Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 How many in your boarding houses? We are looking at the same possible solution for a sister school. Have you moved away from them or still using them? This was old job. Boarding houses were both full, i'd say around 30-40 per house. Was still in place and doing job well when i left in August. We did have 2 ptp links one for each house but often both houses had to run off one PTP (normally the BTB link) 1
