newpersn Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Hello. One of my sites are wanted to use a desktop and docking station in a few shared offices so staff have the option of docking there laptops or using the computer within the office. Does anyone recommend any devices that will do that? Desktop is Dell Optiplex 3050/3060 with DP/HDMI outputs Laptop dock is a Dell WD19S with 2xDP and HDMI outputs Monitors have DP/HDMI inputs.
FN-GM Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 Could you connect both dock and PC to the monitors. Switch the input with the inbuilt controls. Then connect the mouse and keyboard via Bluetooth to both devices? Not a great solution though.

Rob_D Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 Can you get a USB-C card for the desktop that would allow you to just move the docking station back and forth? Or we've used "USB switches" like this before to share a keyboard and mouse between machines:https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B097QQRY65/. Perhaps it could combine with FM-GM's idea.
Cazab Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 I'm guessing something like this but it's not particularly cheap... KVM DisplayPort Dual Monitor 2 Port 4K - KVM Switches | StarTech.com United Kingdom
