Cannot publish Printers

I've been trying to simplify the way teachers can get access to printers they need.

I have the main staff room printer always assigned via a group policy in server2003 R2 but I wanted to publish the others they use in active directory. Every time I try this I get the following error

"The selected printer cannot be published. Access denied."

There is no help on the microsoft site for this and I'm using the administrator account.

If I try to add them in active directory it just tells me I need to use the print management snap-in which is where the error above comes from.

 

Any ideas?

On your print server, try forcing a policy:

 

Computer config/admin templates/printers/allow printers to be published
