I'm sure we can all pick holes in this set of standards for all the Hardware and backend systems need in a modern Primary, Secondary and MAT.

 

But it does present some interesting points of reference if wanting to convince SLT or Governors for the need for hardware replacement or Cyber security etc

My personal gripe is I would not recommend 5 years warrantee on a chromebook as that would cost as much as the chromebook itself....

Agreed with Cyber Alarm, might end up writing up our own version of this document, with the added recommendation that Cyber Alarm is not installed!

I haven't had much chance to digest it or compare it to https://www.gov.uk/guidance/meeting-digital-and-technology-standards-in-schools-and-colleges, but this sort of thing is long needed, and we should be supportive of such a document. Given there isn't a funded agency behind it, there will likely be some rough edges upon which we can (hopefully) provide constructive feedback and make future revisions even better.
