Inventry - Setup Issues

We've had InVentry installed on our site just before the summer holidays. Unfortunately we have had quite a few teething issues and we're still not further forward. We have it sync with SIMS which is where our issues are. We've had a request from there support to install SIMS on the Inventry computer they supply and join it to our domain? We'd also like to know if you have had similar issues with SIMS and Inventry?

We have 2 Inventry terminals here they are not joined to our domain as clients, and it works fine.

 

Did they send an engineer out to set it up on your sims server or are you hosted sims.

There is an agent that sits on our SIMS server for Inventry.

 

We do have the system joined to our domain so we have proper oversight of it (policies, logs, defender etc), and so that the users of the Management Console can connect reliably with modern (well, Kerberos rather than NTLM) protocols.

We had an engineer out who set it up for our onsite SIMS server. It connects fine but we are having issues with the lesson scans where periodically the system falls over when students aren't matched in the lesson. The issue seems to be that the connector isn't pulling the information correctly from SIMS.

The only real issues I have had with InVentry is when it doesn't write marks back to SIMS for lates etc. Sometimes it has also mot pulled through all of the updated data as well. The fix tends to be restarting the InventrySIMSConnect Service on the SIMS server and this tends to kick it back in. Not sure if this will solve your problem but it might be worth a shot.

We're still having issues with Inventry but I've been tasked on finding a possible replacement - I've approached Sign In App but they only offer SIMS Integration for AM / PM & Lates. Can anyone recommend a solution which offers individual lesson writeback?
