Is there a way to find out / run a report on files / folders in a google drive that have been edited or changed within a given time period.

I have been told that some files and folders were missing yesterday (sunday 30th october) on a couple of Google Shared Drives but this morning (monday 31st October) the files and folders are now back. This didnt happen to one member of staff, it happened to a couple of members of staff, i was told that using a different browser seemed to "fix" the issue but cannot replicate issue and struggling to get a report together for a file or folder.

Something just feels a bit weird at the moment.

Could it be simply that the user's browser had 'cached' the page, hence why switching to a different browser fixed?

Seen that before here, and pressing the old 'F5' tended to resolve.

Could have been. I've been to speak with one of the staff members and they said they were using Chrome on a MAC which was having the issue. They tried Safari and the files and folders were there.

I've asked them to try again tonight when they get home.

Now i've read the other posts, thinking about it we had this issue back in January 2022 and we put it down to the computer, even then we asked staff to press F5 to refresh the page.

Yep, this is an ongoing issue since Summer. Lots of reports on Mac admins slack about it too. Seems to be a cacheing issue and a pressing F5 to refresh the page usually resolves it.

Seen that as a caching issue here, too. It feels like it's more likely to occur in shared drives that have a very large number of files and folders (i.e. a particularly hefty directory structure for the browser to have to cache). This might be why some staff/device combinations are appearing to be affected more than others.

I've seen it just with our small IT Dept share as well.
