Epson 1485fi PC Interactivity with extended desktops

We just rolled out 22 Epson 1485Fi projectors to one of our school clients and have run into an odd issue I can't seem to get resolved, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Projectors are connected to Win10 machines. Touch/Pen functionality works great as long is the following are met:

 

 

• Projector is main display OR
  
• Projector and main desktop are mirrored
  

 

If we try and setup the projector as the secondary display, the interactivity registers the pen/touches on the desktop monitor (Primary) display. For instance, I can drag my finger across the projector display and see the selection box over on the main monitor on the desktop. So the touch is working, it just doesn't seem to recognize that it's happening on another monitor.

 

I've recalibrated multiple times thinking it just needs to know where we are across the entire extended desktop, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

 

I know there is a setting in the Easy Interactive Tools app to select the secondary display, but that doesn't see to make any difference other than what screen the tool starts up in.

 

The odd thing is a few teachers machines do work with the extended desktop, and yet we did nothing different to them to make it work. I've gone through the menus with a fine-tooth comb and can't find what the difference is between the 2 that work and the rest that do not.

 

Anybody have any ideas? I have the projectors setup and working for the first day of school today in Mirrored, but I really need to get this figured out and at my wits end. =)

Last time I had this with a touchscreen, this fixed it:

 

Press Windows key and seaxh for calibrate (or Tablet PC Settings, or run shell:::{80F3F1D5-FECA-45F3-BC32-752C152E456E})

 

Click Setup...

 

Press Enet until text appears on touch monitor. Touch text!

THANK YOU! =) I thought it was just me! Nice to get some corroboration, I was starting to feel like we are the only one having the issue.

 

I'll test Andy_B's fix today and see if it resolves the issue.

So, finally figured it out, and Andy was right. I realized this morning that the two devices that worked out of the box with the extended display to the projector were both touchscreen laptops. That and Andy made me put two and two together and tested it out on several of the new Win10 machines attached to the new projectors.

 

When you run the Tablet configuration utility, It gives you the option to identify what screens you have attached are touch enabled, and then you run through the calibrations for both touch and pen. Once I did that everything worked (almost) perfectly. Still having an odd issue with the Epson Easy Interactive Tools app in full-screen, but everything else worked perfectly.

 

Thanks all for the assist, this one was really driving me crazy trying to figure out. I still cannot believe there is no mention of needing to do this for an extended desktop setup anywhere in the docs or online. I did find one small mention in the Epson FAQs that explain the process a bit, but really underplays how important the whole process is:
