Hi,

I got hit by a bulk spam email with tens of thousands of messages yesterday and trying to use the office 365 tools to block the incoming mail seemed to have little effect. I treid an email name block, domain block and eventually an connection /IP block after analysing the email header.

I now have a full email box but deletion of items seems to have little effect. I've tried Mailbox tools, empty folders, archiving. I'm now investigating using the compliance tool to set up a search and delete of the spam emails ( I'm assuming the spam emails have caused it to be full)

I've set up archiving to archive older messages and searched emails by size deleting older large ones.

Whatever I delete on my mailbox either using outlook client or on the online version seems to have no effect on the mailbox full message or size reported.

open to any ideas as at the moment the mailbox is not sending or receiving due to it being full?

Regards

Chris
