Can anyone recommend a photo printer

Am looking at buying a printer specifically for printing photos out approx 30 a week. Can anybody recommend a stand alone printer that can be used with various memory cards and has reasonably priced ink.

At home i have got a Epson Stylus Photo R360, prints photos fantastically, and even goes flatbed for printing into CD/DVD's.

I second that have an earlier version ink is cheap and now 3 years old still prints v well

I you get an epson.. look into fitting an external waste ink tank reasonably soonish and also take your time finding a decent ink before you start shoving any old rubbish in there.. It really does make a difference to the longevity of your prints and the amount of clogging you experience...

I use a Epson Stylus Photo R1800 very successfully to do photo printing. Ink is not cheap, but the 8 ink cartridges including clear does print good quality photo's.

I have a Canon MP610 and its great with cheap ink. PC Pro: Product Reviews: Canon Pixma MP610 its replaced by the MP630 now which is still top of the A-List.

No offence but the A-list is a pile of proverbial marketing gumpf that bears little if any resemblance to testing results or real world usage.

 

The MP630 has a worse scanner, smaller/lower-capacity cartridges, a much higher cost per page (by almost double). No ability to use any third party consumables and frankly the only good news is the addition of a printserver internally. (Comparing to the MP610).

 

Having learned as much as I have about inkjets over the past 6 years my respect for PC-Pro has hit an all time low when they published (what I can only describe as shill marketing) a guide on the best printers about a month ago. They were anything but...
