Hi

My data manger is off with covid so I'm trying to deal with sending some assessment data home. I have tried to amend an individual report word template, pressed save and then SIMS froze. We use hosted SIMS and wherever I login to SIMS I end up on the same frozen page which is unresponsive.

This happened yesterday too and SIMS reset over night.

Is there a better way out of this?? There must surely be a way of SIMS?

Hosted SIMS is really poor. You’re going to have to deal with their technical support to resolve the issue. There is little people on here can do.

Long term you need to leave SIMS for a proper cloud solution. Arbour is an example.

Thank you

A depressing answer, but not unexpected!

In my experience their technical support is so slow as to be not worth bothering with sadly......

Can't be much help on the actual issue as we don't use hosted SIMS, but from the sound of it you are just logging in RDP style. That session is frozen so no matter where you log in from or how many times you log off and back on to it you are logging into that frozen session... and it will still be frozen when you connect to it.

I'd imagine only SIMS support can kill the session (or as you say there may be a job that clears them overnight).

The other option (not that I recommend this sort of thing you understand) might be log in as someone else with the necessary options, just to get the job done.

Of course if the report you were running makes hosted SIMS unstable you run the risk of freezing their log-in session too...
