The Windows 11 update KB5014697, released June 14th 2022 disables the internet when the hotspot is turned on. This is affecting Windows 11, 10, 8 and 7. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-21h2#unable-to-connect-to-internet-when-using-wi-fi-hotspot-feature At the time of writing there is no fix or workaround that i have found. This is the one I want if it's still showing up, should give a bit more insight to what the issue actually is 1

My thnking is there's something in there that Windows uses to keep track of whats installed, attepted and what not. net stop wuauserv net stop bits rmdir /s /q C:\windows\SoftwareDistribution net start bits net start wuauserv

Sharkman Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 Along with what @DaveTheTech said to try, you can try running these commands on the command prompt: sfc /scannow Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth Might be a silly question, but have you tried running the Windows Update Troubleshooter?

All other updates have done their thing and successfully downloaded without any issues….odd as to why that’s happened though ? System glitch on Microsoft’s side ?? 1

I did try that initially before contacting you guys on here

I haven't needed to in the past. You should just be able to pick it up when checking for updates in the settings. Its listed under optional updates. Check the update history to see if the update has installed. If it has, try uninstalling and reinstalling the update. Edited June 29, 2022 by Tom_P 1

Updates are then listed by type, i.e. quality updates, driver updates etc. The KB5014668 update will be listed under quality updates. You can then uninstall updates from this window, futher down is 'related settings' and under that is 'Uninstall updates'. Search for KB5014668 under 'Microsoft windows', right click it > uninstall. Ensure you restart after uninstalling, and then restart again after you reinstall. 1
