chall Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Hi all, We've been trialling edulink and I'm impressed with it, however I've also been asked to look into synergy & classcharts. Looking at them all, it appears that edulink has more features and seems to have the best support & is in active development, but does anyone have any other advice/feedback? Thanks in advance!
Zourous Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Edulink for us has been good. Quick responses from support. Used it for a number of years now. They do have occasional problems here and there, but who doesn’t.
IrritableTech Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 I’ve found ClassCharts support to be really poor recently. I couldn’t honestly recommend them as a result unfortunately. We’ve used it successfully for a few years, but after migrating from sims to arbor we have issues outstanding for three months now and zero communication.
FragglePete Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 +1 for Edulink here. Staff, Students and Parents love it. Support is excellent and more and more is being added to it. We introduced it just before the first lockdown and it proved invaluable in setting homework, tasks, etc. Got called into the Head's office a few months later and was told that Edulink saved the school during the lockdowns. Look at the pricing as well, £2k a year. We looked at Classcharts and that was nearly £5k for the same period. Pete
supportman Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Much better to actually change your MIS underneath than building on top of a legacy SQL database in my opinion.
mthomas08 Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 +EduLink Absolutely fantastic. Very easy to use. Very easy to release to users. VERY easy to send out for parents with a customised email. And very easy to send out to new parents that haven't signed up. Ability to see things from the point of view of each parent. Virtual parent evening - AND it rolls over and shows a timer. It literally just works 10/10. Barely had any problems in the 3-4 years we used it. I can't stress how easy I found EduLink to use, setup and manage. Doesn't link to Bromcom though, which is why sadly we are going to say goodbye.
Linfit Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Been using Edulink with SIMS here for three years. Excellent - easy to set up, staff and parents like it, very responsive support, relatively cheap transparent pricing. We had used Classcharts previously and have found Edulink much easier to work with. We use it with the gov.notify service to keep the costs of the texts down. Of course it can't get around the fundamental problems with SIMS, so we will be moving MIS next year and it will no longer be necessary, but if you are stuck with SIMS Edulink would be a must have I think.
