discoveranother Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Hi all, I'm having a 'blank' head moment !!! It's been that long since I have had to install a RAID driver onto a laptop before imaging it. So here goes. I have an 11th Generation laptop which I installed Windows 10 onto it and now want to image it with Macrium Reflect which I have used a million times before. I have the RAID drivers, but when I boot to the USB Macrium Reflect it picks up the USB as the C Drive. I need to install the RAID driver before it detects the USB as the C Drive. How do I do this ? Sorry, completely forgot. If I add the RAID driver during booting from the USB, Macrium doesn't detect the SSD drive to image when it boots into Macrium because the C Drive is being picked up by the USB drive, so I need to add the RAID driver beforehand booting from USB. Hope this makes sense. Sorry, if I have lost my mind !!! Thanks all
Norphy Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 (edited) So presumably this uses a boot image on the USB stick to boot from. Is it using Windows PE? If so, you need to slipstream the driver for the raid controller into that Windows PE image. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/winpe-mount-and-customize?view=windows-11 It might not use Windows PE of course, it could be a Linux boot image but the principal is the same. Just how you’d add that driver to it though, I have no idea Edited June 9, 2022 by Norphy
