discoveranother Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Hi all, We have a school who have an on-premise 2016 server and they will be getting a new printer soon with papercut software apparently. The printer company said that the staff 0365 email addresses need to be synced with AD. Are they talking about having to setup Azure AD Connect on the on-premise server to sync the AD accounts with 0365 ? Thanks all
round2it Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 dont think so our papercut reads directly from ad for the users it syncs twice a day ensure email addresses are in ad and you should be good to go it might be the scan to email option they may be referring to 2

I assume he means just adding the email address into the user account section of AD ?
MatthewL Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Yes it would be to just ensure that the email address is populated in AD so when PaperCut sync's it had the data for scan to email. 1
browolf Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 (edited) email address is populated in AD It's the kind of thing you could do with powershell pretty easily. Edited May 27, 2022 by browolf
zedster Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Also worth considering how the staff are going to retrieve prints? All our staff are issued a code that they have to type in on the printer in order to access their own documents. This code is linked via the "Pager" field in AD in our setup - but I think you can use any field that's not used. 1
