Olliesaurus Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Heya, Over the half term we moved over to Lightspeed filtering, generally it’s been fairly painless (to a degree) but I’ve got a very weird thing happening that I can’t seem to find anything about online.. Lightspeed Alert Agent installs a Chrome extension when you install the Windows agent, ever since (and I think it might be coincidence but it’s occurring at multiple sites) all of the previously working enforced Chrome extensions have stopped working and just don’t install at all. I can’t figure out whether it’s filtering itself or whether it’s the Lightspeed Alert Agent that’s throwing everything off. Lightspeed haven’t been super forthcoming about it at all really. Anyone experienced this weirdness? Thanks
areanetworkmanager Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 HI! We have an issue with the Alert extensions where we are unable to install the lightspeed Alert extension within Chrome, Edge however is fine! We have spent 3 weeks with lightspeed trying to resolve this and still not resolved. We can however install extensions form the chrome playstore ok. We have been told that Chrome has become tighter on how extensions are added and if you install them for example via GPO you can only install them via GPO for any others you install from then on. So if you install them via an MSI they wont work. however I have not confirmed this is the case with Chrome. Once we have progress I will update the thread! Steve

Feel free to message me if you needed any contact details or had any other questions. Thanks!
MancTech Posted February 7, 2025 Posted February 7, 2025 Sorry to drag up on old post but did you ever get a fix for this issue? Thanks
areanetworkmanager Posted February 7, 2025 Posted February 7, 2025 Sorry to drag up on old post but did you ever get a fix for this issue? Thanks We are moving to LGfL now that our 3 year contract has ended, the Chrome extensions we never resolved fully and gave up. The other solutions we looked at avoid using web extensions. LS has been a good product however we feel LGfL provides a better package for us at this time.
tom_newton Posted February 7, 2025 Posted February 7, 2025 TBH it was probably the way they force install the extension - we wfell into that trap about 5 years ago, but changed the deployment method
