TwistedHelixis Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 Hi, We need to add just one 'teaching and learning' license to our Google Workspace Educational system, so a teacher can record via Google Meet. I contacted a reseller, but they have asked us to transfer our entire Google Workspace for Education licences to them. Is this correct? I have just noticed, I could have probably purchased the license via the Google Admin console directly, should I have done this?
DGardiner Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 Get a corporate card and buy direct on the admin panel. ive no interest in getting tied to a reseller who can charge me what they like later - the price is the same anyway 1
paulkerton Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 You don't need to do that. Whilst you can connect a reseller with your domain to allow them to support you, you don't need to. 1
TwistedHelixis Posted April 5, 2022 Author Posted April 5, 2022 Just got a 60 day trial via our Google admin page :-)
localzuk Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 I've never transferred our licenses to anyone and we've got 1000+ Chromebook management licenses in there. We just give resellers our domain details and they assign them.
slugshead Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 I linked ours with XMA many moons ago when I purchased enterprise for education licenses. They've never pushed for sales, I just get the renewal quote through, send them a PO and it's all sorted. The only niggle, when you hit the support button it tries to get you to contact the reseller first, but you can skip that.
TwistedHelixis Posted April 5, 2022 Author Posted April 5, 2022 We just give resellers our domain details and they assign them. That is what I expected, but they came back asking for a transfer token and instructions on transferring everything to them. When I questioned this they came back and said in order for them to assign licences they need the system transferred to them. Anyway, all sorted now.
