We're migrating from SIMS to Arbor, today's the last day of term and our upload day. Our SIMS contract expired yesterday so I sent this chain of messages to our project team:

Um, so just found a slight problem.

You know how our SIMS licence expired 31st March, and today's April 1st.

Looks like the backup tools we need to use to upload the data might be tied to a valid licence

Seems ESS must have made this change in the most recent update to mess up schools trying to leave at Easter

I'm not sure how to get around this

It looks like to get access to the data we'll need to sign up for a 3 year contract

It's not looking good. They won't reinstate our access without a valid contract. We're also too late to take out the 6 month break clause.

We can't afford to pay for 2 MISs for 3 years

All because we waited until the 1st of April.

All the contracts ended yesterday. This is only happening because it is April the 1st now.

Just my own messages posted, there were responses in between.

I feel a bit bad but the opportunity was too perfect.

I sent this to all staff yesterday. Quite a few fell for it, one had a rant at her colleague before realising the date [emoji846]IMG_6539.JPG
