Hi,

I have been trying to install Cubase 10.0.5 with SCCM, with the ELicenser, HALion Sonic VST, Groove Agent VST and the ASIO Driver.

We have managed to get them to install silently, however when I try to open Cubase, it tells me there is no valid license and the programme will now quit, even though I have the Elicenser USB stick plugged in (I believe this is due to the correct drivers not being installed, as in device manager it states the USB Elicenser has an issue and it is unable to find any drivers for the device.) If i reinstall the Elicenser software manually, it is able to install the correct drivers and am able to launch Cubase with no issues.

After being able to get into Cubase, I go to check the VST's are avaliable and depsite stating they are installed, there are no instruments to choose from. I have checked the file explorer and it creates a folder for HALion and Groove agent but there is nothing actaully within the folders.

Here are the Command Lines I am using to install each one (Each one is set to only be installed once the previous package has been installed):

ASIO Audio Driver: msiexec /i "Generic_Lower_Latency_ASIO_Driver_64bit.msi" ALLUSERS=1 /qn /l*v "\\[serverName]\Sources\Packages\Steinberg\Cubase LE AI Elements 10\10.0.5\Generic Lower Latency ASIO Driver 64bit\Logs\%ComputerName%%Time%.log"

Elicenser: eLicenserControlSetup.exe --mode unattended --unattendedmodeui none

Groove Agent: msiexec /i "GrooveAgentSE_64bit.msi" /passive /norestart ALLUSERS=1

HALion Sonic: msiexec /i "HALionSonicSE.msi" /passive /norestart ALLUSERS=1

Cubase 10.0.5: msiexec /i Cubase_LE_AI_Elements_10.msi ALLUSERS=1 /qn

Thanks in advance for any help!

Not sure if it’s still the same as thankfully been a while since I had to use cubase, but we found we had to manually wrap the certificate install for the driver before the elicenser so that when the software ran it didn’t ask the uac prompt to accept the publisher

Might be worth trying to see if that still works

Hiya,

I've explained the process of installing cubase in a lot of detail in the this thread which I would recommend checking out.

Essentially the issue you are running into with e-licenser is the fact the driver is not being installed as you suspected. This cannot be done using the silent install and must be done using the windows certutil tool separately, before you begin the install of e-licenser

Regarding the VST files missing you have to use the steinberg library manager to register each of the VST files manually. This can be automated but the library manager must be displayed on screen during the install for the install to complete successfully. I have detailed the process in the other thread, I linked above.

The PSAppDeployToolkit is a fantastic tool to use in conjunction with SCCM for these more complicated install and well worth checking out.

Thanks

Hello

just to reply to your post about installing Cubase. I am trying to install Cubase 12 via SCCM just the MSI only. I have used the silent switches it says installing it doesn't. have you managed to install just the MSI application via sccm if yes please share.

Thank You
