cclark1998 Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Hi All I have had a ticket open with vericool for over a month and even after explaining that it is a safeguarding concern and we are recieving parental complaints they have done nothing about it so far. Whenever I go to ask for an update on the ticket all i recieve is a blanket "We are trying to resolve the issue" and thats it, but if anyone else has come across this I am all ears We have got a vericool sign-in system for the students to use so that they are registered as being on site for the sake of fire alarms and student safeguarding. But for the past month no-one has been able to use it as it has been throwing up certification errors whenever it boots and casues it to fail and no connection to the server. The screen itself has network and even internet connection but cannot get to the internally hosted server's webpage. (Screenshot attached)
pete Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 So have you tried renewing the expired (in July 2020) self-signed certificate running on server wdf-vc2016.wdferrers.sch and then adding it to a GPO so the domain computers trust it? We're a Vericool customer and I have opinions about them, but I wouldn't expect them to renew a certificate on a server I'm responsible for. Support their application? Sure. Renew certs? No. 1
cclark1998 Posted March 18, 2022 Author Posted March 18, 2022 The stupid part of it is that that certificate may have ran out in 2020 but it has only stopped working in the past month, surely even with a years grace it would have stopped last year I have asked vericool if I can just renew the certificate and they have told me that they will have to do it

Should be straightforward, depending on what it actually is - may even be doable in Cert Management if it’s Windows based.

dmj Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 -- Phone up and ask to speak with Adam about your ticket. +1 Whilst you're there, ask him why they don't renew the certs automatically - it's not 2010 anymore.
cclark1998 Posted March 21, 2022 Author Posted March 21, 2022 Update: Vericool have now remoted on and "Changed some settings" and it is now working, from the looks of it they had to go routing around in SQL for something..... Jobs a'goodden
