[pics] [Slightly?] Confusing Images

So a weird thing. I looked at the picture on my computer and knew instantly what was happening in the picture and it didn't look out of place.

 

Looked on my phone and I got the desired effect of the image and my brain hurt.

 

Im excluding the fact I forgot I looked earlier.....

Because the image was smaller, maybe, somehow that made a difference?...

I'm not gonna lie, I can't figure this one out.

Unless the sun is suuuuuper low, and the shadow of the plane we see is off-screen, but I'd imagine the shadow we do see to be much thicker and the photo to not be as bright if that was the case.

The person taking the photograph is in/on the plane casting the shadow.

 

The plane we see in the image is actually on the ground taxiing from one place to another. We don't see the shadow, as the body of the plane covers it from our perspective.

No, I think you're correct.

 

The (visible) plane is actually on the ground.

 

There is a plane out of shot (above casting a shadow).

 

The sun I would therefore presume is pretty much overhead... ish.

 

EDIT: Beaten to it (and actually the explanation by @6Foot2 makes even more sense).

A little extra work on the image shows hints of the shadows of the wings, and horizontal stabilizer:

But what colour is that plane? I've shown it to a bunch of my friends and half of them say that it's blue and red but half of them are saying that it's definitely white and gold!

This one took me a minute or two. Even after figuring it out, it still "looked odd" for a while.
