Hi,

We've had a number of users report that their Gmail refuses to load up and gets stuck at the end of the red progress bar at 90%. Nothing has changed on our network so I am wondering if anyone else has started experiencing this suddenly and if Google have changed something that I need to adjust on our Smoothwall? I have noticed that clearing the cache in Chrome resolves the issue, but it returns the next day for the same users, for 4-5 days now

Thanks

Get them to remove any extensions that were connected with Google Meet. Seems that changes to Gmail are being affected by old Meet extensions that are no longer supported after the lockdown situation has eased.

Thank you, I will try this next time and post the findings.

Glad to hear it's not just us!

I had this in my previous school job last year - I had to remove the most recent smoothwall update, although removing mail.google.com from https inspection also worked. Never did find out what happened as I left soon after that!

It might not be this but it has fixed an issue for our users were randomly certain emails just wouldn't open

Outlook setting (cog wheel in top right) > View all outlook settings > In Email Layout Tab > Change Message Organisation to 'Show emails as individual messages'

EDIT - Oh dear how embarrassing!! You said Gmail lol - I should read a bit more closely... sorry :D

Thanks all. Funnily enough we do have some users that took it upon themselves to download some extensions for Google Meet while we were learning remotely in lockdown, so I suspect that is the cause. I've blocked them now so hopefully the issue goes away.

Thanks again.
