Steven_Cleaver Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Has anyone heard of IOS devices having issues accessing websites even though on wifi. So Devices are on the wifi Network but sort of have to go through a portal to access the Internet are able to access some pages but not others specifically more around Https pages. I am trying to get more info but is all I have for now and may relate to IOS versions and think might be around captured portals for IOS devices and dropping hidden ssid's as well. Devices mentioned so Far Iphone 13 pro max IOS version 15.2.1 Iphone 10 IOS Version 14.8.1 Many thanks Steven
Steve21 Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 From your description that sounds more like standard SSL inspection etc if the cert isn't installed on their phones, or is this with all that set properly? Steve 1
MatthewL Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 I've got an iPad in the office which I'm looking at tomorrow that is having internet issues. Connected to WiFi and authenticating ok as its radius but don't know anymore till tomorrow. Got plenty of other devices working ok so wondering if mine is a one off but will post back of its a similar issue. 1

Steve As far as I know phones are ok so we have a few remote sites using the same sort of setup but only a couple of sites at the moment reporting issues when support provider have done some testing has only been issue on IOS Devices Android seem to work ok. They all connect to Wifi and from can sort of access some internal stuff as far as I know but have to go through Captive portal to access the internet.

If they're installing an SSL Certificate manually then that will have to trust it in the Certificate Trust Settings: Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings. Under "Enable full trust for root certificates", turn on trust for the certificate. If you're using an MDM, do you deploy a Config Profile that uses the Internet Filtering payload?
MatthewL Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 Ours turned out not to be an internet issue but iOS and MDM trying to apply profiles.
Steven_Cleaver Posted February 4, 2022 Author Posted February 4, 2022 Hi Matthew Had engineer go to site and have a look the company have been saying is an IOS issue when they have had a look and is an issue with the DIA and packets been stripped out and the IP for the Wireless Captive portal system the DNS was configured incorrectly looks like they are going out to few sites.
MatthewL Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 I tethered one of ours to a phone and still had the issue as that is what we thought was happening with ours at first but soon ruled that out.
Steven_Cleaver Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 Hi Engineer has routed through Google for DNS for now and seems to be working has tested on a few devices he took with him to test and they tested the same devices that were having the issues and all seem to be working for now.
