Google Drive not allowing us to preview Video or Audio files

Hi there,

 

Been having an issue with a member of staff within our school recently who wishes to allow students to distribute works via MP3 and MP4, however, whenever they attempt to preview the files on Google Drive it states the following error message 'There was a problem while playing this audio file' and the same with video.

 

Could there be a reason for this, we have Youtube blocked on our network filter for students, so that would explain the video side of it, so is not a major issue, but audio is proving to be a challenge. Is there a certain link I have to whitelist in order for them to be able to preview certain media files on Google Drive? or something I have to enable in the Admin console?

 

Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you get the same error if you click on the three dots top right and click open in new window?

Could it not be that Google will block what it thinks maybe copyrighted audio moving around it's system?

Yeah, it still comes up with the error 'Couldn't preview this file, there was a problem playing this file' on an MP4 file.

I mean it shouldn't be, because I can view the video fine from my own devices at home absolutely fine, just on our school network is refuses to preview. This is why I was thinking it could be a whitelisting issue.
