Newcastle High School for Girls (NHSG) is seeking to appoint an ICT Support Technician on a full-time, full-year basis. NHSG is the leading school for girls in the north of England and part of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) – the largest network of independent girls’ schools in the UK.

The ICT Support Technician will be joining the Technical Support Team responsible for the management, installation, maintenance, availability and integrity of the School’s ICT systems. They will work under the direction of the ICT Operations Manager and will be dedicated to providing the best possible support for staff and students alike. They will help to manage the School’s ICT assets and budget. They will work closely with colleagues and students to ensure users get the best possible benefit from the systems and services the school provides.

As the school is part of the GDST, the work of the Technical Support Team also supports the needs of our group of schools. Systems must be developed and maintained in-line with the operational requirements of both NHSG and the wider group of schools, so the post holder will also have to consider the broader needs of the whole network.

NVQ or HNC qualifications in IT or related field, or no less than 12 months experience in a technical support role would be required, along with a passion for delivering first-class customer service.

We offer:

· Competitive rate of pay and conditions

· Membership of a Defined Contribution Pension Scheme which offers flexibility in terms of both contribution levels and retirement options

· Access to the extensive GDST central training and development programme

· Training grants for obtaining further qualifications

· Discounted fees for children at GDST schools

· Free lunches during term time

· Interest-free loans for travel season-tickets and personal computer equipment

· A bike to work scheme

· A great working environment, atmosphere and location

Closing date: 10th January 2022, 12 noon. Interviews will take place during the week beginning 17th January 2022.

The NHSG and GDST is committed to diversity, inclusion and real change: a family where every individual is valued, respected and included.

NHSG and GDST are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the DBS. Applications will be considered only from candidates who are eligible to work in the UK.
