Gongalong Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Hi folks, Any experts in non-fuel generators out there? We would like one to power a few items at an outdoor theatre, and this is the favourite https://batterygroup.co.uk/batteries-by-application/motorhomes-rv/supply-batteries/11952/ecoflow-delta-portable-battery-power-station-1260wh I have asked those involved to add up the power ratings of all that they need to connect to double check it's the right thing. Any other recommendations? Thanks
hardtailstar Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 I have been looking into these too. I have seen Jackery but they seem to be the instafluencer paid adverts company. Not seen many real world reviews.
Gongalong Posted December 3, 2021 Author Posted December 3, 2021 Battery Group seem to get reasonable reviews. The pack itself has a few YouTube reviews, albeit mostly in the context of coupling with solar panels for charging, but they seem positive. I think we'll give it a whirl.
Andrew_C Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 I have asked those involved to add up the power ratings of all that they need .... Any other recommendations?Double, and then double again whatever the caterers claim they'll use. "Oh, we didn't think about the two coffee makers, and the 3kW urn for the tea..." Lights and sound should be OK with their estimates. However, someone needs to allow for "Exit route" lighting, including emergencies. 1
MatthewL Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Jackery power banks have been recommended, some have input for solar panels too. There is another brand but I cannot find it at the moment, I've been looking into one of these for going away, we have a LPG generator we can use but its loud when camping so has to go off at 11. 1
Arthur Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 (edited) There is another brand but I cannot find it at the moment EcoFlow? ... or you could build your own. Edited December 3, 2021 by Arthur
MatthewL Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 What are your thoughts on these, 1 and 2 are same products just different size battery, looked at PowerOak/Bluetti, Anker and Jackery, Anker do not have anything suitable. Need a weekend's worth out of it for phones, maybe a TV, laptop and odd light. Bluetti EB150 Bluetti EB240 Jackery 1000
dmj Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 It may not be suitable for your needs, but I have an electric bike battery that I use for weekend camping it's about 20ah and when I'm not using it as a charger it fits on my bike. Supposedly it should charge my MacBook five times but I've never tried that. https://www.amazon.co.uk/DREAMyun-Lithium-ion-Battery-250W-1500W-Electric/dp/B096K47KB5/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?c=ts&keywords=Bike+Batteries&qid=1650478901&s=cycling&sr=1-5&ts_id=3764938031
bald_pig Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 I received an email today about an Anker device: https://www.anker.com/uk/powerhouse_521
