Rob_D Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Run, run while you still can. But seriously congrats on the masters and best of luck finding a job. What positions are you looking for?
KamLamSor Posted December 2, 2021 Author Posted December 2, 2021 Data management, Records management and pretty much any role with the ord information in the title. What was your experiences of finding work like? 1
Rob_D Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Data management, Records management and pretty much any role with the ord information in the title. What was your experiences of finding work like? My early experiences getting into work were somewhat mixed. Starting out, I leaned hard on family connections to find jobs and did a lot of part time gigs. In the end I somewhat fell into working at the school I currently work at and have managed to work my way from tech up to management. From my experiences, when you're starting out who you know can be more important than what you know.
hardtailstar Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Congrats! Try and volunteer in local comapanies or charities. That could lead into paid work or at the very least you would gain experience.
KamLamSor Posted December 3, 2021 Author Posted December 3, 2021 Thanks for the advice. I'm volunteering with a few charities but I want to approach local companies but I'm not sure the best way to do that. Any tips?

Be very polite, explain what you did at university and you are looking for work but would like to volunteer to get a bit of experience. 1
